Review: Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf

Hotel Overview:
The Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf is located near Pier 39 in San Francisco in close proximity to Ghiradhelli Square and other attractions in and around Fisherman's Wharf.  The location is best suited for tourists and others looking to have quick access to the area attractions.

The hotel underwent a renovation recently and the 316 guestrooms feature a contemporary style with nautical elements paying homage to the city's seaport and local area culture.

There is a fitness center available and also a pool, which you won't find in most of the hotels in downtown San Francisco.

There are a few parking garages within walking distance, but if you prefer the hotel parking, valet parking will cost you $59 per night.

On-Site Dining Options:

There are two main dining options on-site including Brick & Beam and the Wardroom.  There is also a small 24-hour market cafe, The Market Place, where you can grab snacks and drinks.

Brick & Beam: Open for lunch and dinner and features classic San Francisco style and locally sourced cuisine.  Also features a nice bar area, great for catching the latest ballgame.

The Wardroom: Open for breakfast and offers a buffet and a la carte menu options

You'll find lots of other options in the local area offering great choices for dining within a short walking distance.

Area Attractions:

There are lots of great things to do and see in San Francisco and some of the highlights are shown in the map below.

For more detailed information on some of the area attractions, you can read more about some of the places I've written about previously:

Spend a Day at the California Academy of Sciences

My Experience:
There are tons of things to do and see in San Francisco.  For our most recent trip, we visited the California Academy of Sciences and the Fisherman's Wharf area.  We also stopped by the Golden Gate Bridge and took in great sweeping views of the bridge and San Francisco.  The main advantage of this hotel and the area it's located in is it's within two blocks from Fisherman's Wharf and also conveniently located near the docks where ferries leave for Alcatraz, Sausalito, and Tiburon.  The hotel is also a block away from the terminal of the Powell-Mason cable car line, which connects to the Union Square and Nob Hill area of San Francisco.Having stayed closer to the downtown area on previous visits, I figured it'd be nice to experience this area of San Francisco to see what it had to offer.  Overall the hotel was nice and in a good location to take advantage of the more "touristy" things to do in San Francisco, but I prefer the Union Square area.
