Experience the Spectacular Drums of the Pacific Luau

The Drums of the Pacific Luau takes you on a journey through the islands of Polynesia, complete with a traditional imu ceremony and a great dinner buffet featuring the exotic flavors of native Hawaiian cuisine, including an all-you-can-eat buffet, a lavish desert bar, and open bar.

The Drums of the Pacific Luau is located at the Hyatt Regency Maui and includes a nice dinner buffet and great entertainment, with the night setup as follows:
  • Mai Tai & Lei Greeting

  • Lighting of the Torches

  • Polynesian Crafts by Local Artisans
  • Traditional Imu Ceremony
  • Fashion Show with traditional “lava lava” wear fashion show.
  • Hula Lesson on Stage
  • Luau Entertainment includes songs, chants & dramatic dances from Hawaii, Tonga, Tahiti, Rarotonga, Samoa, Tuamotus & New Zealand

  • The Dinner Buffet is expansive and includes:
    • Soba Noodle Salad, Fresh Island Fruits, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Pacific Ahi Poke, Pounded Poi (Kauai Taro), Upcountry Maui Baby Greens, Pickled Maui Onion, Cucumber & Carrot Salad, Taro Rolls with Whipped Lilikoi Butter, Imu Kalua Pork, Teriyaki Chicken, Macadamia Nut Crusted Island Fish, Polynesian Fried Rice, Makamaka Vegetables with Molokai Sweet Potatoes, Creamed Taro & Leaf with Coconut Milk
  • Dessert includes:
    • Chocolate Macadamia Nut Pie, Haupia with Toasted Coconut Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, and Bread Pudding
  • The open bar features beer, wine, mixed cocktails, mai tais, and fruit punch

There are three seating options available for the Luau: General Seating, Preferred Seating and VIP seating.

  • General Seating includes a Shell lei and Mai Tai greeting.
    • Adults - $119 (13 & older)
    • Children - $74 (ages 6-12 years)
    • Infant: Free (5 and under)
  • Preferred Seating starts at the second row of tables in the center and a fresh handmade ti leaf lei
    • Adults - $134 (13 & older)
    • Children - $74 (ages 6-12 years)
    • Infant: Free (5 and under)
  • VIP Seating includes seating at the front row of tables, fresh orchid lei for women, keepsake kukui nut lei for men, and first choice at the buffet.
    • Adult: $153 (13 & older)
    • Child: $74 (ages 6-12 years)
    • Infant: Free (5 and under)
For the best seating, I would recommend upgrading to VIP seating.  The keepsakes you get are an added bonus and having access to dinner and drinks first is a great time saver.

Overall, I highly recommend the Drums of the Pacific Luau if you'll be visiting Maui.  The Polynesian Spectacular Show offers great food and entertainment with authentic dances and music of old Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand, Tahiti, Tonga, and Rarotonga, and an unforgettable fire-knife dance finale.  It is a perfect way to experience a Maui evening of culture, entertainment and delicious food and drinks.
