Review: Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country
The Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country features the charm of a Tuscan villa set in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country. It is located near great wineries in Sonoma Valley, as well as being close enough to wineries in Napa Valley.
What You Need to Know:
Location:
The Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country is actually located near downtown Santa Rosa and has convenient access to Railroad Square dining and shopping and easy freeway access to visit wineries in the region.
The hotel was formerly known as the Hyatt Vineyard Creek, but a multi-million dollar renovation and hotel expansion in 2018 added a new four-story building with 89 rooms in front of the existing hotel.
As part of this renovation, the hotel was rebranded as the new Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country.
This new wing has grown the hotel footprint from 163 to 253 rooms, including 6 wine country suites, making it one of the largest hotels in Sonoma County.
The hotel’s new design features earth tones and textures with natural accents, giving the lobby a rustic yet chic look and something you'd expect in a wine country farmhouse. As you walk-in, the lobby makes a great first impression with its new decor featuring a high vaulted ceiling with rustic wood paneling and decorative shovels hanging above the fireplace.
Accommodations:
There are 253 rooms, including six suites, featuring a refreshed decor with the earthy tones/colors and textures paying homage to wine country.
All rooms feature the following amenities:
Dining:
Dining options at the Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country include the following:
The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, plus a happy hour menu of small plates and drink specials. Food featured here includes local ingredients, seasonal produce, Pacific seafood, Sonoma cheeses, fresh bread, and custom barrel-aged cocktails.
Overall Impression:
We enjoyed a weekend stay here and found the hotel to be a great location near the wineries we visited in Napa Valley over the weekend.
We enjoyed dinner at Railroad Stop and then s'mores for dessert around the firepit. Breakfast the next morning at Railroad Stop was good and overall we had a great short stay here.
If you're planning a trip to wine country, the Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country would be a great option, especially if you're planning on visiting wineries near Calistoga such as Castello di Amorosa or Sterling Vineyards, as you can take back roads that pass by Safari West, connecting the Santa Rosa area with Napa Valley.
