The Lion King at Lyceum Theater London
Disney’s award-winning musical The Lion King explodes with glorious colours, stunning effects and enchanting music. It follows the powerful story of Simba as he journeys from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands.
There is no better place to experience the show, then at the Lyceum Theater, now in its 20th year in London. The reimagining of Disney's beloved film by visionary director Julie Taymor will redefine your expectation of theater.
What You Need to Know:
Location:
Lyceum Theater in London - I stayed at the Marriott London Hotel County Hall and the theater was an approximate 20-minute walk away.
Show Information:
Set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains and to the evocative rhythms of Africa, Disney’s multi-award winning musical The Lion King will redefine your expectations of the theater.
The Lion King show running time is 2 hours 30 minutes, which includes one interval.
Show times are at 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm and it’s recommended that you arrive 30 minutes before the show begins to pickup your tickets.
Performance days are Tuesday - Sunday, with Matinees (2:30 pm shows) on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Evening performances (7:30 pm shows) are Tuesday - Saturday. Note that additional performances may be scheduled during school holiday periods.
Ticket Information:
The auditorium has three levels – Stalls, Royal Circle and Grand Circle.
If your budget allows, I would highly recommend buying tickets in the the lower level (Stalls), with the sweet spot with pricing and view/location within the theater being around Rows P, Q and R. Row R, where I was sitting for this show, has extra legroom as well.
The exact seat for this view was Row R Seat 38. There are lots of other websites that show example views, in case you want to see the view before you purchase tickets.
