A Look at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa Holomua Project Renovations

Overlooking the shimmering Pacific ocean, The Westin Maui Resort & Spa on Kaanapali Beach is the perfect resort for an inspiring Hawaiian vacation with its beachfront setting and aquatic playground.  The amenities, dining, and activities available here will appeal to honeymooners and families alike.

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa is is currently undertaking a multimillion-dollar transformation to the entire resort, including guestrooms, pool areas, dining outlets and more!

I am big fan of the Westin Maui Resort & Spa, have stayed here in the past, and love everything about the hotel, location and amenities!  The entire resort renovation will help elevate the Westin Maui even further as one of the best resorts in Hawaii.

On our recent trip to Maui, I toured the on-going renovations and was wowed by the room renovations in the Beach Tower and the completed portion of the re-imagining of Phase 1 of the project.

The overall renovation reminds me a lot of the completed renovations at the Marriott Wailea Beach Resort, located south of Kaanapali, and if you've stayed at that property you will have a better idea of what the Westin Maui renovations include and what to expect here at the Westin.  Review of our stay at the Wailea Beach Resort coming soon to the site!

Holomua Improvement Project
Holomua means improvement, progress and success in the Hawaiian language and with its $100 million dollar transformation, The Westin Maui Resort & Spa is moving to re-position itself as the most elevated & luxurious resort in Kaanapali Beach.

The resort’s re-imagining covers everything from guest arrival, food and beverage offerings and the resort’s famous aquatic playground.  Improvements to food and beverage, for example, will highlight the destination’s cultural diversity and locally-grown ingredients, as well as placing further emphasis on the unrivaled ocean views of the resort’s restaurants.

Some completed portions of the renovations include the guest arrival experience, Beach Tower room renovations and portions of the pool area.

The transformation of the Beach Tower, which almost sits on top of Kaanapali Beach, is one of the best portions of the renovation so far in my opinion.  Staying in the Beach Tower will include a unique package of services and experiences exclusive to Beach Tower guests, the hotel within a hotel concept, perfect for those seeking a more luxurious stay.

As the Westin Maui completed Phase Two and moves into Phase Three of its Holomua project, construction/work noise is anticipated during the day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with certain areas of the hotel being closed off during this time for guest safety.

The final third phase of the ongoing Holomua improvement project includes a redesign of dining/bar venues (former Relish Restaurant), workout and spa amenities, a future venue for Beach Tower guests, and refresh of Ocean Tower corridors.  While these areas are being improved upon, alternate locations include workout facilities at lobby level, massages/facials in Ocean Tower, and dining at Aloha Pavilion (buffet breakfast and food trucks).

I can't wait to check out the completion of the Holomua Project later this Summer 2020.
