Elevate your Experience at the Grand Hyatt New York with access to the Grand Club Lounge

The Grand Hyatt New York boasts a premier location in midtown Manhattan next to Grand Central Station and offers convenient access to everything you want to see in New York including Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, Central Park and more.  One way to elevate your experience even further here is by upgrading to the Grand Club Lounge and experiencing the "hotel within a hotel" concept.  What can you expect and is it worth it?

What is the Grand Club Lounge?
The Grand Club Lounge is exclusively for the comfort and convenience of Club Level guests, accessible by private key access only for guests booking Club Level accommodations, guests with Hyatt Globalist Status or Hyatt Explorist members using a club lounge upgrade award.

The Grand Club Lounge welcomes guests with its nice outdoor patio, refined and relaxed ambiance with comfortable lounge seating, personalized service and complimentary food and beverage presentations throughout the day.

Location:
The Grand Club Lounge is located on the 16th floor of the hotel.

Food and Beverage Presentations:
The club lounge offers personal concierge service, continental breakfast every morning, refreshments and snacks throughout the day with light hors d’oeuvres and desserts in the evening. Alcoholic beverages are served at a minimal charge.

Is it Worth the Cost?
Personally, I highly recommend upgrading to the Grand Club Lounge floors by either booking it, upgrading with points or asking about upgrading at check-in.  The Grand Club Lounge is a "hotel within a hotel" concept, offering all day access to a seasonal outdoor patio, continental breakfast, coffee, tea, water, and soda, evening hors d’oeuvres, nightly dessert assortment, alcoholic beverages (for a nominal fee) and a private concierge.

Club level rooms are priced above standard rooms and typically offer better views on the higher floors of the hotel.  If you don't have access via Globalist status or are using one of four Club Access Awards for being an Explorist member - is it worth the additional cost in terms of the rate or additional points needed to book?

In most cases, the cost of having Club Lounge access is approximately valued at $100 for double occupancy, or what Hyatt would typically value it at.  For approximately $100 per day, you get all day access to food and drinks, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and reduced rates for wine and alcohol.  You can do the math on what you'd typically spend on all day dining and drinks to see if it makes sense for you, but in most cases you would likely break-even or even come out ahead when comparing it to the other dining choices and pricing.  If you have high enough status in World of Hyatt or are using an award, you'd be getting a great value by having Club access.

Lastly, the convenience of having Grand Club Lounge access cannot be overstated, especially with younger children.  When traveling as a family with younger children, having club lounge access is huge and in most cases there is no extra charge for kids under twelve.  Being able to grab food and drinks at your convenience, scheduling meals around nap times and not having to worry about dining reservations can be a great benefit to have.

Whenever I have get the chance, I always try to book a hotel that has a lounge -- knowing how convenient it is with my small children
