Hotel Review: JW Marriott Anaheim Resort
Hotel Review of the JW Marriott Anaheim Resort near Disneyland
The JW Marriott Anaheim Resort is a newly built hotel that opened in August 2020 and is located adjacent to the Anaheim GardenWalk, an emerging dining and entertainment center, and within walking distance to the Disneyland Resort.
Hotel Overview
The hotel is infused with modern art and augmented reality technology all throughout that is inspired in its design by Orange County's diverse agricultural history.
The hotel offers an array of amenities unique to Anaheim including the JW Secret Butterfly Garden located on the second floor and a thin steel art installation that disappears depending on the angle of the onlooker. All of this eye-catching and modern decor highlighting natural materials, rustic tones and a warm color palette does give the hotel its "Wow Factor" at first glance.
The first floor features lots of meeting space and conference rooms and you'll need to take the elevator or escalator up to the lobby level of the hotel on the 2nd floor, where the lobby bar, Citriculture is located, along with Tocca Ferro.
Hotel amenities here include:
- JW Gardens - walk through the JW Gardens, located right off of the 2nd floor lobby level to cut through the Anaheim GardenWalk to get to Disneyland.
- Wellness Center featuring Peloton bikes and state-of-the-art equipment, along with a yoga & zen room
- Outdoor swimming pool complete with three large cabanas and two day beds available for reservation
The JW Marriott Anaheim offers the following on-site dining options
- Tocca Ferro Italian Chophouse: The signature on-site restaurant, which showcases nourishing, locally inspired dining and is currently only open daily for breakfast and currently closed for dinner.
- Market Place: Grab and Go on the ground floor serving fresh sandwiches, snacks, coffess and beverages.
- Citriculture: On the 2nd floor, this lobby bar is a perfect place to gather with friends, family or colleagues after a long day in Anaheim featuring hand-crafted cocktail and light bites.
- Parkestry Rooftop Bar: The perfect view of Anaheim mixed with light bites and creative drinks.
- Lounge: Currently closed. In lieu of Executive Lounge Access all Platinum Elite, Titanium Elite and Ambassador Elite members will receive 750 points per day
Accommodations
The hotel features 466 spacious guest rooms, including 19 expansive suites, with rooms styled in an elegant decor featuring deluxe bedding, sleek bathrooms and some rooms with views of Disneyland.
For our recent stay here, we were in a Theme Park View room with 2 Queen beds.
The room offered distant views of Disneyland and we were upgraded to this room view category thanks to our Marriott Bonvoy Titanium status, so I wouldn't necessarily pay more to book a room with a view here.
Overall Impression
The design of the hotel is very nice and we dined onsite at each of the restaurants (rooftop bar was closed during our visit), as well as took advantage of the location next to the Anaheim GardenWalk to dine at restaurants next door.
